Highlight Reel Take 2!!!

Hello!!!!
Me and Ivana as we wait for A-Team! :)
I know is has been a week since I last posted, but I have been so incredibly busy that I hardly have time to do anything that isn't school related. So, I guess this will be another highlight reel like post and hopefully soon, I will be able to go more in-depth about stuff.
* Ball State just had homecoming week. They lost the homecoming game, which I attended. However, I left the game before the end of the first quarter. It was awful. The other team, Western Michigan I believe, scored TWO TOUCHDOWNS in the first minute of the game! 'Nuff said!
* I met my friend Noelle's mom and grandma on Tuesday or Thursday. They were so sweet and friendly!
* For dinner on Thursday, Noelle, Azia (Noelle's roommate), Erin, and I went to Elliot, where they were having an Alice In Wonderland themed tea party. The food was alright, but the lemon bars for desert were awesome!!! Noelle and Azia were trying to teach Erin and I some Chinese. It didn't work out too well! :)
* I finished my second story for the Daily News (the one about campus safety), and it will be published sometime this week. I also have another story I'm working on about some girls who did an internship with Disney, and that story will hopefully run next week. I'll post links as they become available.
* My story assignment for Ball Bearings keeps changing, but I now have one to work on with my friend Katie about a local gallery in Muncie that is celebrating its one year anniversary. The owner has not returned any emails or calls, so hopefully we get in touch with her soon. That story will be online, as well. I'll post links up for that when it gets published.
* The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ for short) is having a candy fundraiser starting this week. We're selling candy bars every Wednesday from 11-2 for the rest of October. I get to work from 12-1, meaning I have to do my math homework the night before! :)
* A group of my friends and I saw A-Team on Friday. It was a pretty good movie, better than I expected. I would watch it again.
* Terra came here for a college visit. She got here with her mom and a friend yesterday and as I type, she is in the process of the visit part. It was so fun to take her to the Daily News features meeting last night. I hope it was helpful to her and that it made her see that there are so many opportunities in college journalism.

I think that is about it, so I will try to post later again in the week! I love you! :)

The Highlight Reel!!

I am sorry for my lack of blogging. I have been incredibly busy this past week, and it is just overwhelming the amount of work I have to do. I had at least two meeting everyday last week, and that looks to be the case this week, too. I have lots of homework and projects due this week, and I will be turning in my second story for the Daily News this coming weekend. I'll be sure to post it again on here, Twitter, and Facebook.
Anyway, here is a highlight reel of the past week:
*Almost choked and died because of laughing with grapes in my mouth. At dinner with some friends, some creeper guy (a friend of a friend) asked for chapstick and told us his grandma smells like febrezze. Too funny not to laugh!
*Went shopping with Erin and Noelle. Shopping at Target and Walmart can be exhausting!
*Watched Get Him To The Greek (loved as always) and Fight Club (hated)!
*Got a 74% on my Journalism 101 test that I thought I failed (grade went from a D to a B in one week :) )
*Got an honorable mention at the Daily News staff meeting for my hard work!
*Mark Zupan, the guy who wrote the freshman reader, came to campus. Didn't go to his lecture, but ran into him outside of the student center. I went the opposite way (not a fan).
*Had a successful interview with my first head-hancho on campus. The interviewee: the campus police's Public Safety Director. Location of interview: the police station! :)

I can't really think of anything else, so I'll end on that note. I got to finish some more work, but I will try to blog again later in the week! I love you! <3

I've Had The Time Of My Life

Well, there again has not been much going on since the last time we spoke. I've had a lot of homework the past few days, and I have been feeling pretty crappy. The past 24 hours have been a blast though. My friends Noelle, Azia, Evonna, and I have had moviefests. Last night, we watched Selena (again, I know) and Dirty Dancing. Noelle kept doing "the washing machine" and could not sit still! Azia was being Azia and during the last scene of Dirty Dancing, she sang the song beginning to end and did every dance move. It was quite entertaining!! Personally, I just came back to my room, bought I've Had The Time Of My Life off of iTunes, and played it over and over. During the day today, Noelle and I went on a shopping excursion. We went to this little strip mall, the actual mall, and of course Walmart. When we came back, Noelle and I had a early dinner and came back to our dorm for yet another moviefest. Tonight, we watched The Little Rascals and The Breakfast Club. During The Little Rascals, Noelle was looking up the different actors to see what they look like now. Let's just say that Alfalfa may have been a little nerd in the movie, but he is one smexy beast ;) now!! Go Google him! And while you do that, I'm going to finish this AP Stylebook worksheet! I love you!

Nothing New Really

Not much has happened since Monday. I got a new newspaper assignment, one about how to stay safe on campus and that sort of thing. I'm hoping that turns out to be more interesting than it sounds. I went to my first Ball Bearings meeting on Tuesday. I didn't get an assignment, but I may possibly be working with someone on a story about one of the history teachers here. I guess he used to be a pretty good boxer, and the magazine wanted to do a feature on him. Today, I am feeling better than yesterday. There is a lot of sick going around here, especially on my floor. I've been congested and all. I'll see how I feel and maybe go to the health center on Friday. I've met some new friends these past few days. I met Kayla, a friend of a friend who's a really nice public relations major. I also met Katie, a fellow journalism major. She is in the Society of Professional Journalist and is the person I may be working with for that Ball Bearings story. I keep meeting some really nice people around here, and I think that helps me enjoy the days more. Well this is epically short, but I need to study for a sociology exam! I love you!

Walmart, Rape Whistles, and Selena!

Sorry that it has been so long since the last blog! Things have been crazy wild for the past week or so.
So, I went to the call out meeting for the Society of Professional Journalists. That was pretty interesting. Everyone seems really nice, but I think I was the only freshman. It seemed weird, but that just means I get to be in it longer!!!
I turned in my first English writing assignment (the one that my sister was in) on Thursday. I had to record myself saying it, which was strange, but I was told multiple times that I did a good job by the teacher. What is with this? Am I an overachiever or something because my teachers keep doing this!!!
On Friday, I got to see David Letterman and Biz Stone, the co-founder of Twitter. That was a lot of fun. I find social media an interesting thing, and I like Twitter a lot. I learned a lot of the details and stuff about Twitter. It's a very interesting thing. I, of course, forgot my camera, so I winged it with my camera phone. At the Letterman event, I met a new friend. Her name is Sara, and she is from Hammond, Indiana. She's majoring in public relations. We hung out with Erin and Kaitie after the event. We were all suppose to watch Toy Story 3, but it was full after we got there. Instead, we came back to our dorm and watched a movie Kaitie had on her TV. I provided the snacks!!
On Saturday, I went to Walmart. I had a very interesting creeper experience, and I thought I was going to have to blow my rape whistle. It's a long story, but I think the previous sentence says it all! At Walmart, I bought a couple movies since my friends and I watch at least one every weekend together. On Friday, we watch Accepted with Justin Long and Blake Lively. On Saturday, Erin and I watch It's Complicated with Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. This morning, Erin and I watched Selena. I love Selena. I think it is such a great movie, and I would have loved to have seen the actual Selena preform live. It this movie portrays her correctly, she had a lot of soul and was just an all around true performer.
On that note, I am going to call this a wrap. WWE's Night of Champions pay-per-view is coming on soon, and I need to keep myself informed of the action. I also have a bit of homework to still do. I was cleaning longer than I planned on.
I hope you enjoy your week, and I will try to blog in a couple of days. I love you!
*In case you haven't seen this on Facebook or Twitter, I got a hair cut on Thursday. I also got my red wine highlights back!!! So HAPPY!!! Look at my Facebook for pictures!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!! :)

The lunch lady really liked my "tattoo!"
As you may have seen, I posted the link to my story that I did for the Daily News earlier. It ran in today's newspaper. I was so excited! I looked this morning to see if it was online, and I just about flipped. I will officially be here for one month on Saturday, and I have already been published. Hot damn!
I also had another hot damn moment yesterday. A couple blogs ago, I mentioned something I did for an assignment with Erin and Noelle about the cleanliness of the bathrooms for my audio class. Well, I got a 100% on the assignment and when the professor played some of the work, mine was the only one he played beginning to end! He kept saying to me in class how I did such a great job. It felt so good especially since my day was long and boring.
I also got an A+ on my last Journalism 101 quiz, and that is the class that I'm not doing so hot in. That made me pretty happy as well.
Things are busy and getting even better for me here. I'm doing a lot of different things. Most importantly, I'm pretty happy with everything.
By the way, did I tell you that I get to see David Letterman and Biz Stone, the co-founder of twitter, have a conversation about social media this Friday and I get to go for free?
Well, I need to put my laundry away and get some sleep. I got another long day tomorrow. I'll try to post again on Thursday, but this may become an every other day type of thing. I love you!
