Tuesday = MADNESS!!!! But I Love It!

So today made me so much better. It was nice to go to classes and get back in the swing of things. It made my stress go away. If I'm not busy, then I go crazy!!!!!!!!
So last night, RAW made me very happy. It's one thing I look forward to every week. However, I also had a meeting with my roommate and R.A. that happened during the main event. That didn't make me too happy, but I watched the match on mute. Better than nothing.
So, that meeting was to make a roommate contract, which is simply an agreement about what goes on and comes into the room. Kristen and I agreed on everything except whether male guests were allowed to stay the night. I said no, she said yes, so we compromised. I have to have fair warning before they come so I can make other arrangements if I want. I guess that's fair. Now that I'm typing it out, I think it's bullshit that I'm getting kicked out of my room because her friends, who live 1 HOUR away, can't wait to see her on the weekends. Oh well. We'll play it out and see how it goes.
Also yesterday, I fell down some stairs. The floors here are really slick for some unknown reason, and my sandals just skidded down the stairs. I only went down 5, but I am feeling the affects today. My back hurts like a bee-otch, my elbow, wrist, and shoulder feel bruised, and my head hurts like crazy because I hit it kinda hard on the last stair. We'll have to see how that goes, too. If I'm not better soon, then I'll go to the doctor here on campus.
Today, however, has been crazy. I had a really good class at 8AM and when that was done, I got some breakfast and watched the RAW main event on YouTube. Then, I had an interview with Alyssa, a girl from Washington, for my newspaper story. She lives like 7 rooms down, which is really convenient. She's also in my math class! That's even more convenient!
After that, I went to lunch with Noelle and Erin. We kept it simple by just going to Lafollette and getting soup and salad. It was nice to be with them again. They have no idea how much I missed them while they were home this weekend.
I came back to my room and had a nice conversation with Joe Chollet and Kayla Romo via Facebook. I like talking to people back home because it helps me get through the days that I'm not there. I went to my English class, and that was interesting. I have a friend in that class named Leah, and she is really cool. It's nice to know that I'm not the only person on campus who watches LA Ink!
After class, I had two interviews for my newspaper story. One was with Kristen, a girl from Houston who wants to go into law school. The other was with Rafael. He's an international business major from Miami. He was really cool, too.
Now,  I'm eating dinner in my room before heading to my last meeting of the day. It's for the campus magazine. I'm blogging now because later, I got homework to do. So with that being said, I'm going to sign off now. I will talk to y'all later. I love you!

I had a great Monday. Got lots of work done and feel very accomplished at the moment! Watching the 901st episode of Monday Night RAW now, but I will blog more tomorrow. It will be much more interesting! I love you!

Home Sweet Home Oh How I Miss You!!!

I have a feeling this post is going to be a very short one!
I did nothing all day. The only time I left my room was to go to the bathroom and get food. I'm exhausted, sick, and getting stressed out by some classes. I know that this is only the 3rd week of classes but after this week, the semester is 20% over! I don't know. Some classes I'm doing fine in. Others I have no clue because teachers aren't posting grades. One teacher is posting grades, and I am petrified by my grade in there. Let's just put it this way: we have been graded on three things so far: two quizzes and one assignment. The assignment didn't go so hot for me because I didn't type it along with 75% of the class. His syllabus says to type everything and the handout on the assignment said to write it. No one caught it until after the due date. So because of that, I got half credit and my grade is two letter grades down from what I need to have to carry on with my major. I know it will be fine once there is more to grade and there are chances for a bit of extra credit, but to know my grade is what it is now is killing me and my nerves.
It doesn't help that my allergies are the shits right now because this Indiana weather is so f*d up. One day, it is hot as hell on earth and the next, you need to grab a sweatshirt and turn off the air conditioning. It's just crazy.
So after this venting, I would like to take the time and say my math homework is done, I've read all of my sociology stuff for the whole week, my English essay is halfway finished, my newspaper story is going pretty good, and I have the room all to myself for the evening. So I'm putting the books down and the pens away. I'm relaxing for at least a couple hours.
I miss you, Illinois. The predictable weather, the central time zone, the friends, the family, and the who-gives-a-shit drama-free people that are in my life! I'll post again tomorrow. Until then, be safe and I love you!

Eastbound And Down

First off, I would like to say thank you to my readers outside of America. It's cool that people I don't know want to read this silly thing! I like seeing the stats about my blog!
Anyway, so my Saturday was pretty laid back yet again. I was up until 2AM doing laundry because the machines here suck the same thing the bus system does ;) ! I was also surprised by roommate. One of her friends back home surprised her with a visit and ended up crashing here for the night. Her name is Shelby I believe. I didn't say much to her, but she seemed nice. Some more of Kristen's friends are here tonight. I believe their names are Whitney and Katy. They're staying the night and all of them are going back home to Indy for the rest of the weekend.
Back on subject, I woke up around 8AM, got ready, and grabbed some breakfast. I came back and watched a movie before going to my first interview of the day. I talked to Andrea, a very nice girl from New Jersey, about being an out-of-state student and all that jazz. She was very informative and classy, while I was in my weekend mode! She is in a similar boat as me: the adjusting from metropolitan suburb to Podunk nowhere boat! I chatted with her and her roommate for a while afterwords before parting ways. They had some other plans, or we would have spent the afternoon chatting up a storm.
I came back to my room with some food, and I proceeded to re-watch my movie for earlier. When that was done, it was time for me to go to interview #2. I talked to a guy named Daniel from North Carolina. He's originally from New York, so he has a combo accent. It was kinda funny to listen to. He's a T-Com major, so he gave me lots of information and quotes to work with, which is what every journalist loves! We chatted for about an hour and were constantly going off subject. I actually found out that he sits right in front of me in my NEWS 105 class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! He was kinda cute, so I ended my "work day" on a cute note ;)!
I came back to my room again and began to work on the story. I got a bit distracted with some other stuff and then got hungry. So I went back to LaFolette (the closest dorm to mine with food) and grabed some dinner. You know, some of the food here really sucks or is sketchy looking. But the soup here is awesome. Loaded baked potato soup and cheddar broccoli soup are my top favs. The chicken noodle soup is good depending on where you get it.
After consuming my grub, I began to watch this same movie for a third time. I worked on my story for a while, too, but I am calling it a night. My creative juices are running on E. I will now proceed to Facebook stalk people, make some phone calls, watch this movie again along with others, and go to bed at a reasonable time.
Now about this movie I keep watching. So last night, I had a homesickness flash. For some reason, this flash caused me to have a multi-flashback dream. It started off with the time I drove to Iowa City with my dad, and these damn trucks scared the crapola out of me by surrounding the car! It then went into me yelling at my dad for taking to long in the Iowa-80 truck-stop. He could spend days in there if you let him. Then, the dream ended with me watching Smokey and The Bandit (starring Burt Reynolds). I woke up thinking I haven't seen that movie in forever and the last time I saw it, I was with my dad. There must be something funky in the water here, but I spent $3.00 on iTunes to rent that damn movie and for some unknown reason (probably because I'm so bored), I have watched in a million and one times today. I'm scared to death of semi-trucks, but I do like Sheriff Buford T. Justice in this movie. He's funny!
I would bet a million bucks that when my dad sees this, he will laugh his arse off and never let me live it down, but not only did I rent the movie. But I also bought the damn Eastbound and Down song! I'm off my rocker here in Indiana! SAVE ME! I always find some symbolism behind what I watch and listen to, so let's analyze:

Happy Laidback Friday!!

Today has been a relatively uneventful day. I woke up with the urge to dress fancy, co I wore nice jeans, a nice shirt, and my cool brown jacket that I got before I left.
Classes went by sort of slow, but don't they always? I had a quiz today, and I got a C on it. I'm not as great of a test-taker as I used to be. I guess I feel a smidge intimidated. Oh well, I'll get over it with time. I would say the best part of my day so far was my lunch. I enjoyed the company of a friend of mine from Journalism 101 class. Her name is Jennifer, she's from Indiana, and she has a creative mind like me, which makes our time together that much more fun. We started eating and saw this girl sitting at the opposite end of the table. We invited her to join us, and she did. I believe her name was Amber, but I'm at a complete loss right now. She is a freshman, lives outside of Muncie, and has a daughter named Molly, who is super cute (I saw pictures). What I liked most about Amber is that she is a pro wrestling fan! I'M NOT ALONE! THANK GOD! If only met her earlier in the week. Then I could write my wrestling story for the Daily News. Even if I went to my editor about it, she would say no because there wouldn't be room. David Letterman is coming here that same weekend, so of course the newspaper will be all about that! Oh well, there are three more years left to write that story!
Anyway, Amber, Jennifer, and I had a really great lunch. I left for math class afterwords, and that was like pulling teeth out: VERY PAINFUL! I hate math already, but this teacher is making me want to chuck this math book at someone's face. After all that was over, I came back to my room and separated all my laundry, started my English essay, got dinner, ate dinner, and decided to blog. That's this day in a nutshell. Not much excitement this time.
My plans for this evening were to go watch The Killers in Pruis Hall. I've changed them. I'm going to start my laundry once the machines are free and watch The Runaways. I love that band! They set such an example for female rockers and dominated in an industry that was nothing but guys! They kicked some serious arse! And with that, I'm out. I'll post again tomorrow and remember, I'm not as far away as it may seem! I love you!

Going Off The Rails On A Crazy Train!

Holy Lord was today crazy! I can't think of one uneventful moment! This has just been a crazy day and here at Ball State, today feels like a Friday.
My day started with class at 8AM, Sociology 100. Not much to report from there. However, one guy was doing a stalking stare at me for the entire class. I think his name is Steven if I heard right. Or maybe it was Scott. I don't know, but I do know it started with a "s."
After class, I came back to my dorm to drop off my stuff and then caught a bus to Walmart. It was nice to leave campus for a while, and you know how much I love Walmart. Well, I got all my stuff: water, popcorn, soup, an iTunes giftcard, some dum-dum pops, coke zero vanilla. My mission then became to get all to campus. I got it on the bus. That was pretty easy. As the bus was pulling into campus, I pushed the button thing so it would stop in front of my dorm walkway. Well than dang bus driver ignored it and stopped in front of a stop nowhere near my dorm! I was so mad! I got everything off the bus, tried calling my friend Erin to help me and of course, my call went to voicemail. I walked a bit and tried calling my roommate Kristen, who came to my rescue. I have now decided that I'm using the Muncie bus system as little as possible because their service sucks something. Not sure what yet but something!
About an hour after that whole escapade, I went to lunch with Erin and our friend Noelle. I love those two. They make me laugh so much, and I have so much fun when we hang out that I forget about the homesickness that I always seem to have. It's going to suck not having them here this weekend.
After lunch, I came back to the dorm where Erin and Noelle helped me with my News 132 (multimedia-audio) homework. My assignment was to record an interview with someone about any story topic I wanted and record natural sound to go with it. Well, I chose to talk about how clean or dirty our bathrooms on this floor can be. Erin was my interview, and I must say that she did a really good job! Noelle helped me with the natural sound. As I held the recorder ad all, she flushed toilets, ran sicks, open and closed shower curtains, started the shower, got paper towels out of the dispenser. It was very natural sound! I'll try to post it on here sometime because it's some great material! When the recording was done, I came back to my room to edit the material, and Kristen was wierded out by it all. I can't blame her.
Before going to my English 103 class, I did some emailing for my newspaper story. I'm planning on interviewing 5 people and writing a 1,000 word story. And I won't be told it's too long! I love that about college newspapers!
English class came and went. All we did was talk about this essay we have to write. I already knew my topic and as I said earlier, I'll try to post that, too. We also have to make it into a podcast, so maybe I'll put that on here instead.
I was dinking around in my room for a while before Noelle, Erin, and I had a very interesting dinner. There's a football game tonight, so the lines weren't as long as usual. We ate and left. On our way home, we saw this black squirrel (the one pictured to the left). Erin and I named him Fred. All of us were trying to take Fred's picture, but that resulted in some sketchy tree-climbing by Fred, and I became afraid of him jumping on my head. We continued walking to the dorm as Erin told Noelle and I about this squirrel back in her hometown. This is what she said: "There is this squirrel back home, and he's half albino and half not albino." Knowing me, I obviously cracked up  and thought it was the funniest thing since Adam Sandler!
And that brings me to now. I'm sitting in my room blogging, studying, and getting ready to shower before watching TNA. I had a good, fun day. Tomorrow will be nice, too. Noelle and Erin may be going home for the weekend, but I am determined to still have a good time here. The school is screening the movie, The Killers, tomorrow night, so I'll probably go to that. I'll do some more work and enjoy a nice evening to myself. I believe Kristen is going home tomorrow night and coming back Saturday with some friends of hers who will stay the night here on Saturday. I'm curious how that will turn out, but I know it will all be fine.

*Just had to help Noelle find her phone. She thought she left it on her dinner tray and threw it away. It was behind her computer. Guess who found it. Not Noelle! Sounds like something I would do :) !

Just Another Day In The Life

Not much happened today here at Ball State. We had the study abroad fair today, but I only walked through it. I want to study abroad, but I want to wait until next year or junior year.
Also, today was my new friend, Marisella's birthday. She, Noelle, Erin, and I all went to one of the dorms for a buffet dinner. We had some pretty good food, great conversation. and some interesting looking ice cream cones! Mine personally looked like a pile of dog crap (very appetizing, huh)!
So since this blog seems short, I'll tell you a little more about what it's like living here.  My roommate's name is Kristen. She is from Indianapolis, is a huge Jonas Brothers fan, a girly girl, and the World's biggest Diet Coke fan. She's majoring in special education, which I think is pretty cool considering all the dedication and patience one needs to do that type of work. She was kind enough to bring the TV for our room, so I can watch Monday Nigh RAW! Kristen plans on participating in sorority rush week this coming week, and I hope she makes it. She would fit well into that type of social environment. The thing I like most about Kristen is that I can trust her to take care of our room and never leave the door unlocked. I don't feel like I have to hide everything in my closet before I leave each time and for me, that was my number one concern with this whole potluck roommate picking thing.
I live in a z-shaped room, which gives me a sense of more privacy. I have a desk, two bookshelves, four dresser drawers, half of a dresser top, and my own decent size closet to use. Kristen and I share a fridge and microwave, too. We also have air conditioning, and I am so glad that I put it on my tab. It's too hot here in Indiana.
Now, some of you have been asking me about the food here. Well, it's not awful. I eat in the Atrium every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for lunch because it's in the same building as my classes. In the Atrium, they have a deli section, grill, Asian food, Mexican food, a Chi-Fil-A, and a Sabarros. The food overall there is not too shabby. Noyer and Woodworth have a wide selection of food, as well. They have a salad spinning area in Woodworth, which I hear is pretty good. And when I'm not super hungry, I go down to this convenient store in one of the dorms and buy some stuff I can eat later, like Pop-Tarts and apples.
Overall, it's not too bad here. It's not home, but I am happy. It would be nice if there was some more familiar faces around here, but I have met some really great people. I guess I'll talk to you again tomorrow. My plans include a Walmart run ( :) ) and doing my homework for audio class. Let's just say that my audio professor will have a good laugh when he gets my assignment!
